About Cri

Cristian Boscheri (Cr) is a dancer, comedian and theater maker with a fascination for perception and surprise. His signature lies in creativity, a quirky movement style and his ways of bringing his audience on a journey of discovery while connecting with it in unusual ways.

ART
Cri's started breaking in 2005 in Italy. In 2009 he won his first national title and in 2010 he started competing internationally. In 2013, Cri participated for the first time at Open Your Mind, an experimental dance competition that introduced him to different ways of being on stage as an artist. From that moment Cri started to explore contemporary dance, physical theatre, improv theatre, clowning and acting. In 2021 Cri received the "Urban Arts Talent'' grant from the “Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie", that gave him the possibility to work with inspiring mentors in breaking, mime, clowning, singing, contemporary dance to develop his skills as a performer, maker and writer. In 2021, he wrote and performed the theater solo “I don't know anymore”, during Alkmaar Dans Dagen. In 2022, Cri discovered stand-up comedy and between 2022 and 2023, he performed at more than 20 standup comedy shows. At the beginning of 2023 he performed in the dance piece "My heart will stop in joy" by choreographer James Olivo in Chiavari, Italy, alongside other 17 dancers. In the same year he wrote and performed two solo shows, "How to Enjoy life" a show about the blurred lines between hypocrisy and vulnerability and "I am deep" a comedy show combining standup comedy and breaking, that was performed at Parktheater Eindhoven, Pand-P Eindhoven and at the Notorious IBE in Heerlen. In 2023 he also became experimental dance world champion, winning Open Your Mind 2023. 

HOSTING AND TRAINING
Next to his work as an artist, Cri is also a host, trainer and event organiser. In 2005 Cri started training breakers on how to be more creative in dance and in 2010 he hosted his first breaking streetshow first in Italy. In 2014 he started giving talks about sustainable energy and the sharing economy. In 2017 Cri co-founded and started hosting BRAINCANDIES LIVE, a series of out of the box speakers events about the most pressing societal issues known where the audience is an active participant. In May 2023, Cri hosted his 13 BRAINCANDIES LIVE SESSION, during Urban Dans Days 2023. In 2022 and 2023 Cri also created, produced and hosted Surprise Yourself Club, an improvisation game nights for "artists who like to surprise themselves" and Cri and Friends, an evening of multi-disciplinary performances. Throughout the years Cri hosted cultural events, performances, hackathon and design thinking sessions for clients, among others EMOVES, Innoenergy, and TU/Eindhoven.

MULTIDISCIPLINARY BACKGROUND 
Cri is able to relate with audiences and professionals from very diverse cultural and professional backgrounds thanks to his multidisciplinary background across different sectors. Cri is formally trained as an engineer, after getting his BSc at Politecnico di Milano in Energy Engineering in 2012, he obtained his MSc in Sustainable Sustainable Energy Technology from TU Eindhoven (TUE) in 2014. With his graduation project, he was one of the four national finalists of the Shell Bachelor Master Prize. In the same year he became the Dutch country manager for TimeRepublik, a global time sharing platform. In 2015, he attended the post-master's programme in Smart Energy Building & Cities at the TUE and he started a cultural enterprise, wedowe, that is currently running. From 2015 to 2017, he led HipHop empowerment projects in Nepal, India, Brazil, Bosnia and Morocco, where he also judged breakdance competitions. He advocated for the power of Hiphop culture with his theatre play Liquido and in an interview on Bosnian National Television. In 2016, Cri participated in the Erasmus For Young Entrepreneurs programme with ConsorzioSIS, a consortium of Italian social enterprises. From 2017 to 2023 he ran talent development programs for creatives in the audiovisual sector and produced more than 100 between short films, documentaries, short videos and music videos. Cri also consulted organisations on their journey in becoming more inclusive as well as giving related training and facilitating work-sessions.
